At the 2006 census, its population was 1,251 in 276 households, when it was in Dastgerd Rural District of the former Kiar District of Shahrekord County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 1,182 people in 348 households, by which time it was in the Central District of Kiar County.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 1,206 people in 363 households,[2] when it had been transferred to Farrokhshahr District of Shahrekord County.[7]

In August 2023, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Farrokhshahr County, which was divided into two districts and three rural districts, with Farrokh Shahr as its capital and only city.[8]
