Nomination of Louisville, Kentucky[edit]

Question: Do nominations have to include the block of text to be used on the portal, or can it just be a nom? I'd like to nominate Louisville, Kentucky, a featured article and a featured article of the day on October 1, 2005, which has since undergone much more positive changes and has become a rather great article. —  Stevie is the man!  Talk | Work 23:43, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If the article has been featured on the main page, the blurb used for that will usually do. Otherwise, the article lead (first paragraph) is usually used. Sometimes the first paragraph is too short, needs copyedit, or tack on something from the second paragraph. If the nominator would prepare the blurb, would be helpful. In this case, I've added it. -Aude (talk contribs) 23:56, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I'll work on it a blurb revision. Hopefully, there's no rush so I can contemplate it for a couple days. —  Stevie is the man!  Talk | Work
No hurry. While, I have added "voting", I see no reason for opposition. I haven't yet added procedures for nominations for specific weeks. But think maybe after a week, it will be setup for the week of October 1st. -Aude (talk contribs) 00:03, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good to me. —  Stevie is the man!  Talk | Work 00:14, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, to avoid possible confusion, I had meant to say that the Louisville article was a featured article of the day last October 1. I wasn't necessarily requesting October 1 of this year for selected article, but it sounds good at any rate (it corresponds with a major art show we have around that time). —  Stevie is the man!  Talk | Work 00:18, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, okay. So, you would like it for the week of July 9 (or any time). I'll fix that. If you do want it for a particular time, go ahead and change it back. -Aude (talk contribs) 00:25, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I just rewrote the blurb to reflect the article as it currently stands. Please check it out and revise if necessary. —  Stevie is the man!  Talk | Work 01:26, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Happy or sad[edit]

OK. I've nominated Bluegrass music, only a GA but on a happy note considering the current SA (Galveston Hurricane of 1900). I also nominated Hurricane Katrina, an FA but I don't think we need two of those in a row! Thanks AudeVivere for setting this system up. I think it's very cool and should be a standard feature for Portals (If it ain't already)! If you ever need any more help, just know that you can count on your pals from The Beautiful Bluegrass state! • CQ 09:07, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
