Salt of the Earth release year?[edit]

For March 14th we have this:

March 14 - The Asbestos Strike began in Canada in 1949; the film Salt of the Earth was released in 1953; Michael John Foster was born

The article Salt of the Earth (1954 film) has the year as 1954. Is there a rationale for 1953 here? Thanks KConWiki (talk) 13:43, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
