Protected edit request on 11 July 2020

For Special:Statistics, please create a description line (similar to those for pages/registered users/active registered users) that reads (Includes only locally hosted files, not the 105,716,317 files hosted at Wikimedia Commons) or something along those lines. This will correct the misleading impression the page currently gives that only 800,000 files are available for use on Wikipedia. From my reading of this qqx version of the page, it might be necessary to edit the page itself to do this, but I'm not sure where we'd request that. {{u|Sdkb}} ^talk 21:28, 11 July 2020 (UTC)

Izno, yikes, could you please take WP:NOTBURO more to heart? Special:Statistics receives less pageviews than Timbuktu, and many times less than (only semi-protected) WP:About. I was making this request under the uncontroversial provision of WP:ER, but if you're going to demand the same level of explicit consensus for this small change as though I were trying to edit the Main page, it won't be worth the effort to fix it up and it'll remain stuck in its current (pretty dismal) state.

... The above would be the standard response using EPH. If you don't like that one, go see if an interface admin will change it on the appropriate gadget. I have seen a few other editors concerned about that particular response (me too), but the template does say that you must have established a consensus before using the template, so I haven't strongly advocated to change the response.

As for this request, you're the first person in some 15 years to be concerned that we are misleading users into believing that there are only 800k images available. I don't think you have consensus for the change. Get it, please.

I am also not a fan of people who employ hyperbole as above; I am not asking for consensus to change the main page, I am asking for consensus to change a page still-viewed 40k views per day with full-protection because it is part of the interface. (As for Timbuktu, no doubt that page's popularity is due to social conscious, and WP:About is literally linked on every page in yet another interface element.)
