Mahmudabad Rural District (Persian: دهستان محمودآباد), formerly Iranabad Rural District (دهستان ايران اباد), is in Tazeh Kand District of Parsabad County, Ardabil province, Iran. Its capital is the village of Mahmudabad-e Taleqani.[3]

At the census of 2006, its population was 5,579 in 1,169 households.[4] There were 5,525 inhabitants in 1,361 households at the following census of 2011.[5] In the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 4,615 in 1,303 households. The most populous of its 10 villages was Mahmudabad-e Taleqani, with 2,060 people.[2]
