General remark and tones[edit]

  1. Our IPA transcriptions of foreign languages should be (more or less broad) phonetic and therefore enclosed in square brackets rather than phonemic and between slashes.
  2. Currently several of the tones are represented by alternative tone letters. This help page should guide users to definite symbols and prevent random choices.
  3. The tone spelled -h is currently transcribed as mid level [˧], indistinguishable from the tone with unmarked spelling. Shouldn't it be falling from mid to extra-low [˧˩] as in article Iu Mien language? Love —LiliCharlie (talk) 07:08, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
