Summary

Description

"Miss Leila Usher, Sculptress, with bas-relief of Susan B. Anthony"

Print, 6.5 x 8.5 in. before cropping, of an informal portrait, half-length, showing Leila Usher, facing right with head turned toward camera, standing next to her bas-relief sculpture of Susan B. Anthony. From the Records of the National Woman's Party.

This photograph forms the basis for an advertisement or press release in the May 5, 1922 issue of The Dickson County Herald, the text of which reads:

Gift for National Woman's Party

Miss Leila Usher, sculptress, standing beside the bas-relief of Susan B. Anthony, pioneer suffragist, which she has presented to the National Woman's Party. This work of art will be installed in the national headquarters of the party, which overlooks the capitol of the nation.

The Library of Congress mentions it was published on page 18 of the Washington Post on April 8, 1922; this may or may not be the same press release.
