Summary

Description
English: Caption below photograph reads: Patriotic effort at Toowoomba, Queensland.

A street collection recently organised by Mrs J. H. Fairfax, of Combooya, and other ladies, in aid of the Toowoomba Soldiers' Sock and Comforts Fund, realised about ₤120. Our photograph shows Mrs Fairfax's novelty stall.

Sign above stall reads: We can all do more than we have done, And be not a whit the worse. It never was loving that emptied the heart. Nor giving that emptied the purse.
