response to review comments[edit]

Thanks for assessing this draft article. I’ve repaired the issue regarding Figure 1, also by moving this figure to the respective section. I’ve also added a few introductory sentences providing examples of hierarchies in the opening lines of the article.

Can you specify in more detail your various (other) comments, some of which are too high-level to effectively respond to?

More specifically:

  • You write that “the submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources.” But, please note that every sentence and claim is supported by at least one source; and all sources used are from academic trustworthy publications in double-blind reviewed journals. So, please specify in more detail what your problem here is.
  • Regarding sources, I’ve extensively used the publications referenced in footnotes 1, 5, 7 and 9, with the first section especially based on sources 5 and 7 and the main structure of the second and third sections drawing especially on source 9.
  • Your second point is that “this submission provides insufficient context for those unfamiliar with the subject matter.”  Please note that the introductory text of this article refers to more basic Wikipedia pages on “hierarchy” and “social system”, for readers completely unfamiliar with these notions. I’ve checked the contextual issue with other pages, for instance on “Dominance hierarchy” and “Collaboration” and the level of specific jargon of my proposed article appears to resonate well with these and other established pages. Any way, I’ve slightly rewritten the introductory sentences, as explained above.

Overall, I’d thus appreciate more specific guidelines from you. Otherwise, I’ll ask for live help from experienced editors, as you also suggested. HannesRammer (talk) 14:37, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
