Framework for a meaningful discussion[edit]

To discuss "Transhumanism and Technology" a meaningful framework is needed. A whole WP section exists - but its content varies from the pragmatic to the fantastical - improving the human condition with technology is hardly radical thinking -- BeingObjective (talk) 00:12, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The wikipedia article should be about a single atomic topic, preferably, when a Wikidata item for it already exists.
For example, for "Transhumanism and Technology" article, it should be an atomic item "Transhumanism and Technology" such as a framework employed by many under such name, a concept with many books published, an ideology supported by many, etc., so to meet criteria of notoriety.
For example, the article should start like '"Transhumanism and Technology" is a social engineering framework invented by XXX in 1973 and used by YYY, WWW, KKK ever since for ZZZZ.'
The definition should be taken from a reliable source.
Still, the article starts with 'Transhumanism is a philosophical and intellectual movement...' therefore, it only defines 'Transhumanism', not "Transhumanism and Technology" as an atomic entity.
The lead further progresses and gives the explanatio: 'This article focuses on technological aspects of transhumism...'
Therefore, a better name for the article should have been "Technology in transhumanism" and should have had the following starting sentence: "Technology in Transhumanism is defined as the use of current and emerging technologies to augment human capabilities and improve the human condition"
Still, this definition should come from a reliable source.
I cannot review the article for substance, since I'm only evaluating from the point of view of how I understand Wikipedia rules if you have prepared it as a Wikipedia draft, and I'm having difficulties understanding it from the prism of Wikipedia rules.
I anticipate that if you submit it to Wikipedia, instead of discussion, the article may end up with speedy deletion for lack of notariety, original research, speculation, etc..
As I told you earlier, I can recommend you to publish it in an academic journal instead of Wikipedia.
If you would like to make an extension of a single topic of the Transhumanism article on Wikipedia, such as "Human enhancement", then consider naming it "Transhumanistic technology" or something like that, but there should be an explanation on how it differs from "Human enhancement" and why the two articles should not be merged. Narrow Scope[edit]

As there are many articles on transhumanism - this is a tightly scoped article focusing on technologies that either support or are invoked by advocates of the philosophy. BeingObjective (talk) 19:45, 29 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
