Updated sources[edit]

@Unbroken Chain @scope creep - Hi thanks for your feedback. Its helpful in getting right direction. I have added secondary sources and interviews focusing on Schinecker - and also tried to clean up duplicated references. Could you kindly review and let me know if your proposal would change. I am open to that feedback. Noxoug1 (talk) 05:46, 25 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

That reference you updated is just another routine annoucement and doesn't constitute a secondary source. The article will be deleted. scope_creepTalk 06:59, 25 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
User:Noxoug1, you can feel free to remove the PROD tag if you think the subject meets GNG. The next step would be an AFD discussion if another editor feels so inclined. I DO NOT believe that they pass the GNG as it stands now but I will not bring it to AFD at this point either. Unbroken Chain (talk) 22:55, 25 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Draft improvement[edit]

Hi, I work for a PR consultancy called Kekst CNC, working on behalf of Roche. We’re engaging as a member of the Wikipedia community having signed the official agency/Wikipedia agreement set out here (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Statement_on_Wikipedia_from_participating_communications_firms). This means that we follow guidelines, most importantly that we understand that we have a COI, which means that we let members of the Wikipedia community decide (or not decide) to make changes for us.

We have seen that the page has recently been proposed for deletion and we understand the issues flagged. To support, we would like to help improve the page now, for example by providing additional sources. As this page is now a draft, with the community’s permission, we would like to directly make changes to the draft that adhere to Wikipedia guidelines and contribute to a more substantive entry. It’s worth noting that over the coming months, Thomas’ international profile will continue to increase given his new appointment as CEO of Roche – one of the largest healthcare companies in the world. So, we agree that a draft page will help this article expand beyond stub-class.

In addition, we would like to flag that the previous orphan point made is easily resolved given there should be a natural link from the English Roche Wikipedia page.

Thanks. MelanieGoettler (talk) 11:26, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@MelanieGoettler I have moved the page to draft since the profile of Thomas Schinecker is not yet notable, there are not many sources about him specifically. If you have additional sources, could you add them to the draft page and we can take it on from there? Noxoug1 (talk) 13:52, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you @Noxoug1 for your reply. I have added additional sources directly to the draft. Please let me know if there is anything we can do to improve the article. MelanieGoettler (talk) 13:58, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@MelanieGoettler thanks for the additional sources. Do you have other primary sources with significant coverage? I would like to the draft to meet GNG. An addition of a photo could improve the draft, provided it meets requirement. @Unbroken Chain @scope creep if you have some additional input that could help, it would be appreciated.Noxoug1 (talk) 19:46, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The references that have been in 3k block, are mostly routine in nature. I don't see it being notable at this time. If it was moved to mainspace, I would sent to Afd and it would be deleted. scope_creepTalk 08:06, 31 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Noxoug1 @Scope creep Thank you for your feedback. I've added a photo. I would also like to suggest that the statements about his contributions to Roche's COVID-19 test kits could be enhanced, as there are substantial sources available. Below is a suggestion for you to review and implement.
+++
During the pandemic, Roche’s Diagnostics division made significant contributions to ensuring the widespread availability of appropriate tests worldwide, under the leadership of Thomas Schinecker (Ft.com). An emergency team was set up at the beginning of the pandemic to work on developing new tests (wsj.com). The division designed and marketed Covid-19 tests, which were used in the US, EU and UK (wsj.com). The team surrounding Thomas Schinecker developed a specific blood test for Covid-19, with 99.8% specificity that was able to accurately distinguish Covid-19 antibodies from other coronaviruses’ antibodies (theguardian.com). Scientists were able to use the test results to understand how the virus had spread and how long patients were immune after infection (dailymail.co.uk).

Please let me know what you think. Thanks. MelanieGoettler (talk) 14:25, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What draft is it again? The Daily Mail is non-rs. scope_creepTalk 15:38, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Its this draft. The WP:BLP policy states that the person real WP:SECONDARY sources. These refs are still routine in nature and fail a number of polices and will be a delete at Afd. scope_creepTalk 15:41, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
