Two drafts about Theresa Greenfield[edit]

Hey everyone, We have another draft about the politician Theresa Greenfield. We need to decide which draft we are going to use. Here is the link to the other draft: Draft:Theresa GreenfieldAdamT777 (talk) 19:39 (UTC), 13 September 2020

Notability[edit]

(response to review by Robert McClenon)

At the time I initially wrote and submitted this draft I was not aware of the pre-existing page Draft:Theresa Greenfield because of the redirect in place for searches under "Theresa Greenfield." When I did find it, I judged that this version was more thorough and better sourced (my opinion; perhaps I'm biased), although of course there is substantial overlap. It would be easy to merge the two drafts now if that's desirable, but I think the primary issue for discussion is notability rather than the existence of two separate drafts on the same subject.

With regard to notability, WP:NPOL does not say that candidates for office fail to satisfy notability. Instead it says, "Major local political figures who have received significant press coverage" are "presumed to be notable." In my view, the coverage of Greenfield meets that bar, with a number of articles in widely-read, reliable, national publications. There is recent discussion of this standard in the Teahouse and here. I agree that WP:GNG is not met in this case, but I don't see why that should be the criterion for politicians.

Finally, you mentioned that portions of the article resemble a campaign flyer. If you're willing to point me to the specific places that produce that impression, I would be happy to revise accordingly. Thanks, Js2112 (talk) 05:53, 14 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
