References[edit]

@Klang79: You've added a number of links I think intending that they be references for the notability of the subject, but that's not how referencing works. I removed a number of links in a recent edit that are not anything useable in terms of references; mostly, links to bibliographic information or reviews of the book on self-published blogs. Leaving external links in with no indication of what/how they support the article isn't going to get the article past the draft stage and doesn't establish notability. You need to use the content in those articles/links to build out the article's content, citing the source inline. Refer to Referencing for beginners to get started. Thank you - yes that's exactly what I did.
Previous declines/comments led me to believe the referencing section is what was missing quantity of links to make it notable. Can you confirm - I need to build out the article content to include links/citations to get it to a stage it's publishable?
Just wondering if I should abandon altogether as I'm not sure the above would actually make the subject more notable - it's a reasonably significant work of fiction on the American-Western landscape, currently referenced in several areas on Wikipedia but with no original article on the story itself, so was just trying to plug an obvious gap. Wasn't expecting so many hurdles! Klang79 (talk) 12:52, 15 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
