Just in case[edit]

The idea behind the creation of this draft is to have a readymade framework if TJ Cox, currently trailing by a few hundred votes in CA-21 with a few thousand votes left, pulls into the lead and wins the election. With that in mind, the article is written in a manner that already describes him as Representative-elect from his district. This is obviously an inaccurate characterization to make as of November 23 when I'm writing this, but keep the intended purpose in mind. Westroopnerd (talk) 09:08, 23 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It's wise to make this draft. I'm editing it accordingly. The next update in the race will come on Monday, election officials said, and if he's declared the winner, this will be moved into mainspace. – Muboshgu (talk) 14:38, 23 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Since he's pulled into the lead and CNN is projecting him to win, let's expand this and get it ready for prime time soon. Jonathunder (talk) 16:48, 27 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Jonathunder: I agree we should make this article better, but I have to pedantically point out one thing. CNN isn't projecting him to win yet, so let's not make their same mistake.[1] CNN is saying its "now withdrawn its projection in the race.". The Fresno Bee goes into more detail about Cox's chances: "Kings County has 1,577 uncounted ballots [...] Valadao has done well [there], pulling in about 63 percent of the vote."[2] I'm virtuallly certain that even if Cox loses, California's 21st congressional district election, 2018 will be notable, so the work we do on Draft:TJ Cox can provide us good starter material for that article. -- RobLa (talk) 17:57, 27 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
