Competition[edit]

There's a competition being done by Red Bull about this, should we mention it? --Jamo62 (talk) 10:46, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Jamo62: depends on the copetition, and coverage of the copetition in secondary (non-Red Bull) sources. SSSB (talk) 12:22, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@SSSB: This contest is about Red Bull allowing fans to stream their own version of the car launch. Currently, f1.com haven't mentioned it, but the contest is on RBR's website and is mentioned with the car name. As far as I'm concerned, it's a 50/50 on if we should mention it, but it impacts the car launch date so. yeah. --Jamo62 (talk) 14:55, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Note: I have the link I'm referencing https://www.redbullracing.com/int-en/join-us-for-the-launch-of-rb18, it's also referenced on the 2022 Formula One World Championship Page, so it's probably best to put it here somehow, even if we aren't referencing the competition. --Jamo62 (talk) 15:01, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect from RB17?[edit]

Should RB17 Redirect over to this page? --Jamo62 (talk) 09:26, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No, unless you can show that people regularly call the RB18 the RB17 by accident. SSSB (talk) 09:40, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Launch date[edit]

It says here that the RB18 will launch sometime in February, but I can't find other sources that mentions such date. Should we remove it? Klrfl (talk) 02:45, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

We should remove it because of WP:RECENTISM, more specifically it fails WP:NOTNEWS and the WP:TENYEARTEST (frankly, it fails the ten week test). In other words, it isn't the kind of content suitable for an encylopedia. SSSB (talk) 09:24, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for that! The reference for that sentence said it will launch in February, but Red Bull removed it from the reference. I don't know why considering they would probably know about it being referenced TWICE on Wikipedia (this page and 2022 Formula One World Championship) I'll have it removed from the page shortly, again, I'm sorry. --Jamo62 (talk) 12:43, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
