Madala Ravi (Telugu: మాదాల రవి) is a film actor, Film Producer, Doctor (Consultant Gastroenterologist) and a Progressive social Activist and Television Host. He is the son of Legendary and Revolutionary Film actor and Producer Madala Ranga Rao[1], who is famous for his trendsetting super hit films like Yuvataram Kadilindi, Erra Mallelu, Viplavasankham, Swarajyam, Erra Matti etc... Madala Ravi (Full Name : Madala Ravichand) was born in Ongole, Andhra Pradesh on 28th July to Madala Ranga Rao and Madala Padmavathi. Madala Ravi did his schooling from Kesari Higher Secondary School, Mylapore, Chennai.

Madala Ravi started his film career as a child artiste in Erra Mallelu , Swarajyam and few other films produced by his father Madala Ranga Rao[2]. Madala Ravi Song ‘Nampally Station Kaadi Rajalingo’ from the super hit film Erra Mallelu was an all time hit song for many decades and has fetched singer SP Salaja a Nandi AP State government award for this debut song in 1981.

Madala Ravi did his MD in general medicine and Super Specialization in Gastroenterology and liver diseases in Russia at Rostov State Medical University. He also worked as the managing director for many established pharmaceutical trading companies. After returning to India in 2003, Madala Ravi started his own film banner, Bharat Productions and produced his debut movie Nenu Saitham in which he played the lead role. Nenu Saitham Movie was a successful progressive film which deals with the struggle of a common man against the atrocities of corrupt politicians and vested interests. He also acted in many Telugu films in the lead role like Maa Illavelupu, Broker 2, Panchamukhi etc...and Hindi films like Aaj Ka Inquilaab, Naaglaxmi, Nagkanya (Bhojpuri). Madala Ravi also won many awards like Vishala Bharati Gauravsatkar award from Delhi Telugu Academy, Super Hit, Santhosham and Sankalp Divas Awards as an Actor. Madala Ravi Song Naakeenti in Broker 2, won Nandi AP State Government award for Best song and Best Lyric to writer Chaitanya Prasad. He also hosted many Television Talk shows (Manassakshi Ga Madala Ravi Tho) in 99 TV channel.

Madala Ravi plays an important role in Praja Natya Mandali which is a progressive cultural organization in which he had headed many meetings, cultural shows, seminars and stage plays in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He participated and lead many of the agitations under the leadership of CPI, CPI(M), LEFT youth organizations and also worked as a lead campaigner for the communist parties. He works for the unity among all the communist parties. He also participated in many social welfare works organized by many progressive organizations and NGOs. He also organized and enacted in many stage theatre shows in Russia, Europe and India.

Madala Ravi strongly believes and propagates that film is the most powerful media to sensitize and awaken the people against social atrocities and social injustice. He is also in the advisory board of many Television channels like 10TV, 99TV and many progressive organisations. As a Doctor, he had conducted many health camps and served lakhs of people by rendering free medical service . Apart from these activities, he is also continuing his journey as an film actor and producer in 2018 with couple of films.
