The idea of Kommune 1[edit]

I'm thinking about "Die Idee der Kommune I als einer kollektiven, nichtentfremdeten Arbeits- und Lebensgemeinschaft ging ursprünglich auf ihre Initiative zurück," and your translation "The idea of the Kommune 1 as a collective, non-alienated working and living community traces back to her initiative":

  • My first issue is with the main clause, "Die Idee ... ging ... auf ihre Initiative zurück." I'm thinking something more like "she introduced the idea" or "she was responsible for the idea"? I'm just not too happy with "traces back to her initiative."
  • Second of all: "eine kollektive, nichtentfremdete Arbeits- und Lebensgemeinschaft." Perhaps a less direct translation? Something like "a communal worker collective"? Not entirely sure how to get across the togetherness (also in the sense of living situations) implied by Lebensgemeinschaft but perhaps "communal" is a good start.

Hope this helps! Will look back at the rest of the article later tonight. -- HeighHo talk 16:38, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
