Move of article to Draft space[edit]

Hi Charliekleboe-rogers. I've moved this article to Draft space as it's currently not in a proper state for main Article space. Moving it to Draft space will allow you to work on it until it's ready for the main encyclopedia. Note another editor tagged the article for speedy deletion while I was moving it, on the grounds it was overly promotional, and they had a good point. You will need to use the same encyclopedic tone that is used in the rest of Wikipedia, rather than the over-friendly and promotional wording currently in the article. For example, in the opening line, you state Smith is an "esteemed teacher and accomplished mathematician" - he may be both of those things, but you will need to avoid stating them in Wikipedia's voice. Who has said he is "esteemed." Follow the manual of style throughout - so it should be "Smith appeared" or "Smith was awarded", not "Chris Smith appeared", etc. As the article is a biography, good reliable sources will be needed for everything. Hope this helps, BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 17:44, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks so much for the advice, it's really great to have this thanks. I appreciate you helping me develop this article. Charliekleboe-rogers (talk) 17:48, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... I am trying my best to edit it to meet Wikipedias style of writing and removing the overly friendly tone and sticking to facts. I have edited this since the speedy deletion so please re consider. --Charliekleboe-rogers (talk) 17:52, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

See WP:G11: If a subject is notable and the content could plausibly be replaced with text written from a neutral point of view, this is preferable to deletion. As the subject has just been awarded an MBE, they meet notability guidelines. The creator has been given some advice on the tone and structure, let them work on the article in draft space. Incoming link[edit]

If moved back to article space, include a link from the Dara Ó Briain article, where the family are mentioned as winning the gameshow. BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 23:57, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
