Just providing a little clarification my submission. After I submitted the article Draft:Amlogic, I noticed (from an auto-generated warning comment) that there already was a pre-existing, smaller rejected article with the same title by a different user, in the form of a talk page which also includes the body of the rejected article Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Amlogic. That the pre-existing article had been rejected isn't very surprising, as contains virtually no references except for a few dead links, and is grammatically a little awkard. However, it does look like was written by a person very close to the subject (company), and although short, seems accurate. The facts mentioned in the pre-existing article generally match what is said in my new, larger article.

In my new article, I have provided a fair number of references throughout the article, which I hope will be sufficient and also help establish the notability of the subject company, which was questioned by one reviewer of the pre-existing article. The subject, the semiconductor company Amlogic, while not very well known nor highly succesful, has nonetheless been a familiar name for those following the industry (of designers of chips for multi-media consumer electronics) for many years, and is regularly mentioned on technology-oriented websites (including those targeted at tech-savvy consumers worldwide). With roughly 500 employees in 2013, it not even a small company in the semiconductor space. Over the years it has probably also consumed a considerable amount (at least tens of millions of dollars) of private venture capital investments (without achieving the success that would allow those investors to recoup their losses), which in itself may be a reason for notability, and it is not implausible that is now struggling financially given the product delays and lack of big-selling products in recent times. Overall, I feel it is notable enough to be included as a subject in Wikipedia. -- Calamites (talk) 03:30, 23 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
