Whinfield Primary School, is often simply referred to as Whinfield and is an 4-11 mixed primary school, which is soon to have academy status in Darlington, County Durham, England. The school will be part of the Education Village Academy Trust.

History[edit]

1977-2004; Infant and Junior School[edit]

Originally, Whinfield Primary school was split between Whinfield Infant School and Whinfield Junior School when it was first intended to be built. On the 1st September 1977, Whinfield Infant School opened under the Durham County Council Local Authority Maintained School. In 1979, Whinfield Junior School opened next door to Whinfield Infant School. [1]
