The Cyberpunk 2077 sequel is an upcoming action role-playing video game developed by CD Projekt Red and published by CD Projekt, based on video game designer Mike Pondsmith's tabletop game series. Set in a dystopian cyberpunk universe.

The game was announced in October 2022 under the code name "Project Orion".

Development and release[edit]

CD Projekt Red announced the game in October 2022 as "Project Orion".[1] It was revealed to be in the conceptual phase in early 2024, with the plan to have 80 people working on it by the end of the year.[2] CD Projekt CEO Adam Badowski said that the game may include multiplayer.[2][3][4] CD Projekt Red narrative director Philipp Weber added that the studio was looking into improving the quality of the life paths from Cyberpunk 2077 (2020).[5] The game will also use Unreal Engine 5 instead of REDengine 4 like the previous instalment.[6]
