Syed Afzal Abbas is a senior leader of Janata Dal (United) and currently serving as the Chairman of the Bihar State Shia Waqf Board [1] in the Government of Bihar.

Early life and education[edit]

Abbas received his early education at Urdu Maktab School in Lashkaripur, Chhapra, and completed his secondary education at Middle School Rampur Bindlal in Chhapra. He has been interested in football since childhood and participated in the state-level football competition in 1981 from R.N High School Parsagarh, Chhapra. Enrollment in Inter was done from Rajendra College, Chhapra Sports Quota and he obtained his bachelor's degree from this college.

Political travelogue[edit]

Influenced by senior leader Smt. Uma Pandey, who had been a six-time MLA and two-time minister of the Indian National Congress ticket from Baniapur Chhapra joined the Indian National Congress Party and worked honestly in the Indian National Congress party. Abbas was appointed Chairman of the Minority Cell in Baniapur Block in the Government of Bihar. While in the Indian National Congress Party (1990 - 1995), he was also elected Secretary of State Youth.

In 1999, he played an important role in making Samata Party candidate Shri Prabhu Nath Singh victorious. After this, the Lok Jan Shakti Party was formed by the Late Ram Vilas Paswan and he joined the party while living in Delhi as a founding member. He was appointed president of the minority cell of Delhi state in the Lok Jan Shakti Party. Ram Vilas Paswan nominated him as the National President of LJP Minority Cell. While being in Lok Jan Shakti Party, he tried to strengthen the LJP organization in Delhi for almost 10 years. 16 September 2020 Resigned from the primary membership of Lok Jan Shakti Party.

A few days later, on 18 September 2010, given the serious situation in Bihar at that time, hundreds of officials of Janata Dal (United), inspired by the ideology and working style of Honorable Chief Minister of Bihar Shri Nitish Kumar, took membership in the presence of the then State President Shri Vijay Kumar Choudhary. Worked as a star campaigner for the Janata Dal (United) party in the Bihar Legislative Assembly Election, 2010.

In 2014, on the orders of the then Janata Dal (United) National President, Honorable Late Shri Sharad Yadav, a huge minority conference was organized at BP House in Delhi. In which many Members Of Parliament and senior leaders of the party participated. Seeing his hard work, efficient leadership, honesty, and success at the minority conference. With the consent of Honorable Shri Nitish Kumar, the Late Sharad Yadav was nominated as the National President of the Janata Dal (United) Minority Cell.

From 2014 to 2021, more than 5 thousand live debates were organized on behalf of the Janata Dal (United) Party on all the National News Channels of India.

Working continuously as an active Janata Dal (United) Party worker, he made every possible effort to strengthen the Janata Dal (United). Due to the efforts of Shri Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Honorable Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar was elected unopposed as the Chairman of the Bihar State Shia Waqf Board [1](29 October 2020 - Present).
