Stella (UK Band) (Stella 2k) was formed in 1995 by university friends Wesley Goldthorpe and David Callahan.  Wesley arranged a lead singer audition for his home town friend Keith Silk after discovering he had moved to London from Germany.  Rehearsals began in the Holloway area of London with various temporary drummers playing including Mark and Steve but eventually Laura Scott became Stella’s full time drummer.  Stella (UK Band) played their first gig in a pub in Hounslow and progressed onto the London music circuit with Philippa Cooke as their manager playing at numerous venues including The Bull and Gate, Kentish Town.  The Hope and Anchor, Islington.  The Garage, Islington.  The Dublin Castle, Camden and Covent Garden’s Rock Garden.  Stella (UK Band) rented a house together in Archway, London and around the same time brought on rhythm, guitarist, Jonathan Stringer who saw an advertisement at a local venue for the position and met the band in a pub on the Holloway Road.  The band recorded an EP at OTR studios in Hackney London.  The band sparked interest with Creation records, but were never signed.
