Shant Manas ('ஷந்தமானஸ்' meaning 'peaceful mind') is a not-for-profit organization, based in Madurai, Tamil Nadu region, South India, working towards improving awareness of the importance of mental health and minimizing stigma and discrimination.

Shant Manas was started in 2007 by Dr Cahn Vasudevan, a retired Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist from the UK began as a small clinical project in 4 villages in Madurai city.[1] The Shant Manas catchment area covers rural population, with many informal workers often living in poor economic conditions. Placement work is crucial for the Indian social work syllabus and Shant Manas helps in such an healthcare education. Local students students from local Universities in Madurai and international volunteers are encouraged to do Social work and nursing.[2]
