Raipur division is an administrative division of Chhattisgarh state in central India. It includes the districts of Baloda Bazar, Raipur, Mahasamund, Gariaband and Dhamtari. It shares its border with 3 other divisions of Chhattisgarh and the state of Odisha.

Constituencies[edit]

Raipur Division has 4 Lok Sabha Constituencies in it:Janjgir–Champa(reserved for SC), Raipur, Mahasamund and Kanker(reserved for ST). Three of them do not belong completely to Raipur division.

It has 19 Vidhan Sabha constituencies in it.

Administration[edit]

A Divisional Commissioner, who is an IAS officer is the head of this region. Shri A. K. Toppo is the divisional commissioner of Raipur Division.[1]

Demographics[edit]

According to the 2011 census, Raipur division has a population of 5,669,975 which is expected to be much higher by 2023. Out of it, 17,36,643 (30.63%) live in urban areas.
