Pramila Krishnan is an economist and econometrician currently serving as Professor of Development Economics at the University of Oxford. Her research focuses on the economics of the household in the developing world. According to Research Papers in Economics, Krishnan is in the top 8% of economists by research output.[1]

Krishnan received her BA and MA in Statistics from the Indian Statistical Institute, Calcutta, and her PhD in Economics from the University of Florida.

Krishnan is married to Stefan Dercon,

Pramila holds a Ph.D from University of Florida and BA (Hons.) and MA in Statistics from the Indian Statistical Institute, Calcutta, India. Currently she is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Cambridge (U.K.) and a Fellow of Jesus College, Cambridge (U.K.) Her research interests include: analysis of household behaviour and rural institutions in developing countries; microeconometric approaches to development economics.
