Paanikottu (also known as Paanikottal) is a festival conducted in Hindu temples in Kerala. This festival originated in Kerala, and [1] is conducted in the Malayalam Month of Thulam.[1] Chengila, Conch and Timila are needed to conduct this festival. But this can vary depending on location. In some places, only Chengila is needed, and for some others Conch, Timila and trees are needed. Paanikottal is conducted for Sreeboothabali, Kaumarabali, Kalasham, Jayabali, Ulsavabali and many various programs.
