Submission declined on 28 July 2023 by Greenman (talk). This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies. Declined by Greenman 10 months ago. |

PDF Extra is a cross-platform suite application developed by MobiSystems[1][2]. The software allows users to create, edit, convert, compress, sign, secure, and share Portable Document Format (PDF) files on desktop and mobile devices.[3]
History[edit]
The product was initially launched in 2014 on the Android platform under the name of Quick PDF Scanner[4] and allowed users to scan physical documents into PDF files.[5][6][7] In 2019, the app transitioned to an all-in-one PDF suite and was rebranded as PDF Extra.[8] A version for Windows devices was introduced in 2019,[9] with an iOS version following in 2020.[10]
Features[edit]
The software enables scanning, creating, annotating, and editing PDF files. Supported conversions include PDF to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, EPUB, and PDF to image (JPEG and PNG). The application allows file encryption (RC4, AES), digital signatures, and the ability to lock files or selectively apply read-only and permissions passwords.[3][11]
Editions[edit]
PDF Extra offers a free version supported by ads and three commercial options.[12][13] Two of the commercial editions are subscription-based, while one allows a one-time purchase license.[14] Each commercial version includes a specified amount of cloud storage on MobiSystems' proprietary cloud platform.[15]
PDF Association[edit]
In October 2022, MobiSystems became a member of the PDF Association – an international collaboration of member organizations promoting the adoption of International Standards related to PDF technology.[2][3]
