Draft:Open BSL

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Open BSL is a language made to be spoken with just one hand. It was made in 2023 by two people. It’s based around binary. The person talking can use either the right or left hand with the use of Pollex. Pollex in this context means that the thumb is always worth 1.[1]

How it works[edit]

It works in some way a little like text encodings like ASCII, in that a number means a character.[2] 0 is reserved for saying space. After 0 the letters start, so “a” is 1 and “b” is 2 and so on. It all the letters in the Norwegian alphabet. 30 means that the next letter is not a letter, but a number. When the number is finished you say 31 again to show that you are finished. 30 means that the next letter is an abbreviation.
