Submission declined on 22 August 2023 by Fancy Refrigerator (talk). This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies. Declined by Fancy Refrigerator 9 months ago. |
- Comment: Press releases are not independent. Routine investment announcements are not in-depth. This] is the only source that meaningfully contributes to notability. Ca talk to me! 11:44, 6 November 2023 (UTC)

Obilet is an online travel booking platform based in Istanbul, Turkey, specializing in intercity bus tickets.[1] Aside from bus tickets, the platform also offers flight and ferry tickets as well as online hotel booking and car rental services through its website and its mobile applications.
Obilet also provides software for bus operators to manage their bus inventory and helps them sell tickets through the platform.[2]
In 2021, Obilet acquired Biletall, its main B2C and B2B competitor.[3]
According to SimilarWeb, Obilet is the most visited website in Turkey in the Travel and Tourism category.[4]
History[edit]
Obilet was founded in 2012, as an online inter-city and international bus booking platform by two young Turkish entrepreneurs, Ali Yılmaz and Yiğit Gürocak.
In 2015, the company reached 1 million bus ticket sales annually and received investment from Earlybird Venture Capital as the Series B financing round.[5]
In 2016, the company started providing Inventory Management Software (IMS) to bus carriers.
In 2017, Obilet started listing and selling flight tickets from domestic and international airlines along with bus tickets.[6]
In 2019, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) joined Obilet's investors and board.[7]
In 2021, Obilet acquired Biletall, its main B2C and B2B competitor, which had been a pioneer in the digitalization of Turkey's travel industry since the 2000s.[8] Subsequently, the company expanded its transportation options and started selling ferry tickets[9] and airport transfer services.
In 2022, the company initiated another category expansion by adding car rental[10] and hotel booking[11] services to its offerings. In the same year, Obilet established a subsidiary in Bucharest, Romania.[12]
In 2023, the company proceeded on another global expansion effort, launching a subsidiary in Belgrade, Serbia.[13]
