History[edit]

NEXARDA was launched in September 2018 as a price comparison service based in the United Kingdom, later in April 2020 the company NEXARDA LTD[3] was incorporated and became responsible for maintaining the website.

Business model[edit]

The business uses an affiliate marketing scheme - depending on the retailer users buy from, NEXARDA receives a commission on each sale through an affiliate network using affiliate links. The site scans prices automatically 24/7 using price feeds, APIs and web scraping. The website has a group of active volunteers who help run the site by doing tasks including data entry, advertising, website testing and content moderation.

Retailer types (differences)[edit]

NEXARDA works with 3 different types of online retailers: Official Stores, Key Sellers & Marketplaces. The key differences:

  • Official Stores provide genuine copies of products to users, sourced directly from game developers & publishers.
  • Key Sellers provide resold versions of product codes/keys to users at significantly cheaper prices (usually with region restrictions).
  • Marketplaces provide second-hand product codes/keys to users at significantly cheaper prices but are sold by individuals (vendors) through the website acting as a middleman.
