Mícheál Óg Lane (Michael Og Lane) is an Irish actor from Galway. He is best known for playing Eugene Moloney in The Guard.

Career[edit]

Mícheál Óg Lane (Michael Og Lane) was born and raised in Galway, Ireland. He made his screen debut playing Eugene Moloney in The Guard alongside Brendan Gleeson for which he collected the IFTA award for Best Director on John Michael McDonagh's behalf. He appeared in the first season of Chris O'Dowd's Moone Boy for Sky One. He then reunited with John Michael McDonagh and Brendan Gleeson in McDonagh's second feature film Calvary.

A succession of small roles followed in titles such as The Survivalist , The Queen v Patrick O'Donnell and Ros na Rún. As well as Fairview Park , a short film based on the true story seen as a major catalyst for Ireland’s gay rights movement.

Lane is a graduate of The Bow Street Academy for Screen Acting.

Lane has upcoming roles in Thordur Palsson's psychological horror The Damned alongside Odessa Young and Joe Cole. As well as Aislinn Clarke's Irish Language horror Fréwaka alongside Bríd Ní Neachtain and Clare Monnelly.
