Rules of Double Bit Axe Throwing:

Throwing Distance - The line is to be 20' from the target; Height: Bullseye - 5' high; Diameter of Wooden Axe Target is 18" and usually 12-16" thick; the Bullseye is worth 5 points - 2" circle in center; next 2" ring is worth 4 and so on until final ring is worth 1 point.

The Edge of a Double Axe can be a maximum of 6"; Weight is a minimum of 2 1/2 lbs.; Top of wedge cannot extend 0.4" above the head. The handle of the Axe must be wooden.

The thrower must not step over the throwing line before the axe has hit or missed the target.

Only the "Fore-Bit" of the Double Bit Axe can score a hit on the target area - but the bit must stick in the target. The Fore-Bit only needs to nick the line separating two scoring areas to win the points of the higher scoring area. The winner is whoever has the best score. If both bits touch the target, the throw is disqualified.

The point that is earned is at the place the axe has entered and is flush to the target. Use a playing card or other flat surface to judge.

Scores may be kept on a sheet or use an App.
