CoinEx is a global cryptocurrency exchange service provider.[1][2][3][4] CoinEx is legally licensed in Estonia.[5][6][7][8][9] It operates under the flagship of ViaBTC Group.[10][11][12][13]

Overview[edit]

CoinEx is a trading platform for cryptocurrencies and trading pairs.[2][14][15] It is available in over 200 countries and regions.[10][16]

2017[edit]

CoinEx's team independently developed a 10,000 TPS trade matching engine in May. Haipo Yang,[16] CEO,[10][2] founded CoinEx in December.[17][3]

2018[edit]

In January, CoinEx Token (CET),[18] a public token of CoinEx Smart Chain (CSC) based on the ERC-20 standard, was released.[6] In July, its 24-hour trading volume reached $1.24B, exceeding Binance's figure.[7][19]

2019[edit]

In March, CoinEx blocked access and terminated the registration of new users from mainland China.[20] In October, Bitcoin and Matrixport became CoinEx Chain Global Nodes partners. CoinEx Chain launched the mainnet in November.[21]

2020[edit]

In March, CoinEx launched the Ambassador Program to recruit blockchain and crypto experts.[22][23] It also partnered with Simplex, a fiat payment infrastructure provider.[24]

In April, CoinEx formed a partnership with Matrixport, a digital asset financial service platform from Bitmain.[25]

In May, ViaBTC Group completed its upgrade and built a blockchain ecosystem that comprises ViaBTC Pool, ViaWallet, CoinEx Exchange, and CSC.[26][27][10][5]

2021[edit]

CSC, a PoS-based public chain compatible with EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine),[28] released its whitepaper and developer documentation in May and launched the testnet.[29]

In June, CSC's mainnet officially went live.[30][31][32]

In September, CoinEx announced to wind down operations in mainland China to comply with local anti-crypto regulations.[20] In November, CSC launched the $5M known as Multi-Million Dollar Supportive Plan for Metaverse Ecology when it hosted Global Hackathon Grants.[28]

2022[edit]

In February, CoinEx was ranked as the 7th fastest-growing brand in financial services by Digital 100 UK 2022.[33] CoinEx launched a perpetual contract for BSV/USD markets.[34].

In March, CoinEx became one of the official sponsors of BitSampa 2022, a crypto event in Brazil.[35][36]

In June, CSC launched Global Hackathon Grants Phase II.[28][37] It became the 2021 Rugby League World Cup 2021's (RLWC 2021) official cryptocurrency trading platform partner.[1][38]

In November, CoinEx sponsored the LABITCONF, a Bitcoin conference in Buenos Aires, Argentina.[39] In December, it launched the proof of reserves using centralized exchanges.[17][40][14][41]

2023[edit]

In January, ViaBTC Capital and CoinEx jointly released the 2022 Crypto Annual Report.[40][42]

In February, CoinEx released a Security Vulnerability and Threat Intelligence Bounty Program, which offers up to 10,000 USDT to participants.[17][43][44][45]

In March, CoinEx gave away batches of 500 CET tokens during the 23rd edition of the Web3 event, Paris Blockchain Week (PBW) in Carrousel du Louvre in Paris.[46] CoinEx hosted an offline event in Chennai, India.[47][48]

In April, CoinEx was the official sponsor of Talent Land 2023.[49] Also, CoinEx launched "CoinEx Loves Africa Project 2023" (the CLAP23 campaign).[50][12]

In May, it formulated BitHK, a crypto trading platform for users in Hong Kong.[51][52] CoinEx launched a CoinEx Pizza Party at Blockhouse, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.[53][54][55]

CoinEx Charity[edit]

CoinEx Charity launched charitable events in Belarus, Nigeria, the Philippines, and Iran,[56][57] starting in 2021.[58][59][60]

2021[edit]

In December, it held the "Festival of Love" charitable event and donated 700 care packages to children at Uniuyo Teaching Hospital, Nigeria.[61][62][63]

2022[edit]

During the Iranian New Year, CoinEx Charity visited remote Isfahan villages suffering from poor living conditions and distributed food packages to 100 low-income families.[61][62][60][64]

In January, CoinEx Charity offered emergency aid to Filipinos affected by Typhoon Rai.[60][65] In March, it inaugurated a $10M aid fund with the mission of "A Better World with Blockchain".[61][62][58]

CoinEx Charity kicked off Book Donation Worldwide in May.[66][67][68] It partnered with UNICEF in July and sponsored a charity gala, Blue Carpet Show, in Thailand to raise funds for needy children.[69][70]

2023[edit]

In January, CoinEx Charity distributed relief materials in earthquake-stricken areas of West Azerbaijan in northwestern Iran.[64][71]

In April, CoinEx Charity launched its second education welfare program in Turkey.[59][72]
