Ching-Hai Li (1941—), a native of Guningtou, Kinmen County, is a master of earth and water construction. He began to learn civil engineering from the “monk master” of the village at the age of 20 and became a master four years later.[1] He successively participated in the construction and repair projects of family temples and ancient houses and learned techniques such as Lu Ban Gong's seven-color bending method, swallow-tail ridge, horseback, and other traditional architectural styles.[2]He won the Third Kinmen Cultural Award in 2018.[3]In 2022, he was recognized by the Ministry of Culture as a preserver of the important cultural heritage preservation technology, “Earth and Water Building Technology.”[4]
