The Battle of Muara, was fought on June 26, 1578, it would truly marked the end of the Castilian War. A Spnaish-Bruneian army under the command of Pengiran Seri Ratna was defeated by an army under the command of Bendahara Sakam. The army commanded by Bendahara Sakam previously fought at the Battle of Kota Batu on the same day. This battle is really not known a lot being overshadowed by the previous battle (Battle of Kota Batu, as a Spanish retreated to Manila in the same day.)

Battle[edit]

Upon the Spanish Retreat to Manila in 26 June 1578,[citation needed] Pengiran Seri Lela and Ratna's followers hurriedly ran to Muara. Bruneian army leaded by Bendahara Sakam were being routed to Brunei Muara, chasing Pengiran Seri Lela and Ratna's followers.[1] Pengiran Seri Lela and Ratna's followers were outgunned against Bruneian army leaded by Bendahara Sakam. The Bruneian Army leaded by Pengiran Seri Ratna, retreated upriver and abandoning Kota Batu.[1] During the Battle, Pengiran Seri Ratna would be later be killed in battle. Thus truly ending the Castilian War. [citation needed]

Aftermath[edit]

There are not many accounts of any mentions of what happened to the Bruneian defectors of Spain, probably executed, some probably retreating to Manila the same day. [citation needed]
