  • Comment: Are you sure the sources you've provided are reliable enough? (It's a sincere question, not criticism, I promise...) Also, it's often better to avoid citing Twitter and other social media directly, if possible.

Amberol is a music player written in Rust[1] for the GNOME desktop environment. It is developed by Emmanuele Bassi, and described as "a music player with no delusions of grandeur".[2] It only plays music files locally on an computer, not from music streaming services. The application is a part of the GNOME Circle program.[citation needed] It is inspired by the now discontinued Muine music player.[3]

Amberol supports most mainstream audio formats.[citation needed] It displays audio metadata, time passed and time remaining.[citation needed] It includes an ReplayGain implementation,[citation needed] and MPRIS integration.[4]
