Draft:5,000 złotych note

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Polish 5,000 złotych note was a former banknote of Polish złoty, from the third banknote series. It features Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin on the obverse and the reverse shows the piano sheet of one of Chopin's songs. ("Polonaise.") It was first issued in 1977, but on 1 January 1995 lost its value, new banknotes/coins were made, and it became equivalent to 50 modern Polish groszy. (5,000 modern złoty is equivalent to 1,265.46 U.S. dollars[1], and 50 modern groszy is equivalent to 0.13 U.S. dollars[2].)

Details[edit]

Obverse[edit]

On the top left, it features the text Polska Rzeczpospolita Ludowa, (Polish name of the Polish People's Republic.) a giant "5,000" number displayed in bold font, and the text PIĘC TYSIĘCY ZŁOTYCH. (FIVE THOUSAND ZŁOTY in English.) Below in smaller text reads where the banknote was made, (Warsaw.) and the date of manufacture. (June 1st, 1982, November 13th, 1993, etc.) Below is the signature of the president and chief treasurer of the National Bank Of Poland those years. (Indicated by the even smaller text above the signatures, prezes: short for prezydent, translated to English as president. And główny skrabnik: translated to English as chief treasurer.)

Below the Polska Rzeczpospolita Ludowa text is the serial number, and all the way below is a smaller 5,000. (With lines through the number.) In between the signatures is the Polish eagle, to the right is the same serial number, and to the top right of the bill is a small 5,000 with nicer, thicker lines. To the slight left is a giant portrait of Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin, indicated by the fancy, cursive text Fryderyk Chopin. (Supposedly his name in French, in adulthood, and sometimes in English is Frédéric François Chopin.)

Reverse[edit]

On the top left, it features the text Narodowy Bank Polski, (Polish for the National Bank Of Poland.) a legal tender message, (One that specifically reads: "Banknoty emitowane przez Narodowy Bank Polski są prawnym środkiem płatniczym w Polsce.") ["Banknotes issued by the National Bank Of Poland are legal tender in Poland." in English.) and another 5,000 inside of lines.

To the bottom right corner of the bill is the same PIĘC TYSIĘCY ZŁOTYCH text from eariler. to the center is a large, big 5-line staff of one of Chopin's songs. (Specifically Polonaise.) To the bottom is a very fancy signature of Narodowy Bank Polski.
