Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because... (1) The content is substantially different to what was deleted in 2015; (2) Consensus on redlinked usercategoried has recently changed greatly, thus a fresh discussion is demanded. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 21:55, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Consensus hasn't changed just because two editors have decided it should have. But if "a fresh discussion is demanded", then the proper way is to start a new CfD, or maybe try to persuade the participants in the discussions at Wikipedia_talk:User_categories. – Uanfala (talk) 22:02, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
If you want the category deleted, you'll need to use CfD. I dispute the applicability of G4 here. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 22:14, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You will need to use CfD as the category was deleted and salted with a consensus there. Consensus was against the existence (and recreation) of this category, so any cosmetic differences in what's in the category text don't diminish the applicability of G4. – Uanfala (talk) 22:29, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I support the status quo. Protest categories don't work. To protest, you need to explain yourself. Use a projectspace essay. Include a signup section for counting active support. Free text signup allows dating, and comments, unlike categorisation. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 22:33, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Huh? The status quo is for this category to stay deleted. And this is anything but a "protest category." – Uanfala (talk) 22:37, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
