Name change[edit]

This needs to be changed to "provinces" since the subcategories are all correct. Then some of the dioceses would have to be moved out, I guess, but having provinces as a member of "dioceses" is clearly incorrect. Student7 (talk) 01:46, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ir's okay to have a category to include all dioceses and archdioceses. It is okay to have another category to contain all ecclesiatical provinces which themselves include all dioceses. It is clearly wrong (as well as redundant) to include, on a permanent basis, all provinces, dioceses and archdioceses in the same category.
It would be like having a category "nations" and then lumping in continents. Or a category "cities" and lumping in states. Student7 (talk) 12:19, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Old websites for some dioceses[edit]

I found a listing of URLs from the 1990s for several dioceses: http://web.archive.org/web/19980112220829/http://www.archdiocese-phl.org/main/diocese.htm

This may be useful if you're trying to find historical information on a diocese, say on churches or schools that have since merged or closed. WhisperToMe (talk) 01:11, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
