This is a very subjective category and reeks of anti-police bias. Spring3100 01:05, 1 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It is a strange category. Is this just police or police and military, which countries, etc? --Dumbo1 22:58, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It has been suggested several times, both here, and in the articles that this category is POV and unmanagable. I beleive it is too, therefore I am nominating it for deletion. This category needs to be discussed, and some form of consensus needs to be reached. --Ezeu 00:13, 20 January 2006 (UTC) Sorry, it wasnt this category I meant to complain about, but Category:Unarmed people shot dead by police, which has been deleted. --Ezeu 05:44, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I believe the above designation would a) be much less POV b) be more inclusive to include people who died, rightly or wrongly, by police action by other means--Dudeman5685 (talk) 19:39, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
the category is huge, and since every person killed by police is automatically notable for that reason alone, troublesome. do we write articles on all of them? no, wikipedia is not a set of obituaries. so were really talking about high profile deaths. and its got to include both questionable deaths and straight out shootout victims who "brought it on themselves". and where is the parallel category for "police killed by civilians"? or "fatal police shootouts"?
