Is anybody interested in creating a category for districts that were abolished by the Local Government Act of 1929 and also the changes that took place in the 1960s Penrithguy 11:41, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ahh just realised a lot of them are allready listed on the category Historic districts of England so maybe it would end up duplicating the articles Penrithguy 11:44, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

We could probably make a useful category "Districts of England abolished between 1894 and 1972". Splitting it up by waves would also be possible - there were a lot in the 30s abolished - but some did get abolished after and before then. Morwen - Talk 21:47, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That could work. There were abolitions going on throughout the period. By "waves" would presumably be by decades or half decades? Lozleader 22:03, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I was thinking say, pre-1929, 1929-1939, wartime (if any), pre-1960, post-1960. But the category isn't big enough to really need splitting now so lets wait until we see how the numbers would work. ;) Morwen - Talk 22:09, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Districts of England created by the Local Government Act 1894[edit]

I'm going through the contents of this category from time to time, adding any relavant articles to Category:Districts of England created by the Local Government Act 1894. So far I've finished A-Z. Mrsteviec 06:51, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is complete. By my reckoning all the relevant articles should have this category now. Possibly two categorises for districts created/abolished by County Review Orders could be created to complete the picture. Mrsteviec 18:23, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
