Why such an ethnic boundry exists I fail to see. It is obvious that it stems from the historic troubles between the two communities in Ireland, especially Ulster, but it should be noted that this was more a political and cultural conflict. I think this website should take the first steps in breaking down such a wall. It appears to me as though Irish-Canadian refers to a Canadian who might hold some Republican loyalties and Ulster-Scottish Canadians automatically implies Loyalist sympathies. This is not the case. If it is provable, the person's religion could be made clear, but if not it should simply be left to the imagination what their or their ancestors' political beliefs were.
