Justification for category.[edit]

The "Branches of geography" are one method of organizing the discipline of geography. Others include the "four traditions of geography."[1] While there have been many attempts to organize the discipline, the "branches" in this category are based on the UNESCO Encyclopedia of Life Support Systems organization.[2][3]
