Brooke Allison is the debut and sole studio album by American pop singer Brooke Allison, released on June 19, 2001. The album includes songs written by Mýa, Meredith Brooks and Allan Rich. The album did not impact any major charts.

"The Kiss-Off (Goodbye)" was the first single released from the album and reached number 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Sales chart.[2] This was followed by "Thought You Might Wanna Know", which failed to impact any charts.[3]

Composition[edit]

Allison has said of the album: "It's so crazy - in a good way - because the album has so many musical styles... I mean, we've got some pop, R&B and ballads, but my main style is probably pop Top 40."[citation needed]

Promotion[edit]

The album was promoted through the children's television channel Nickelodeon.[4] Allison appeared on a number of TV programs to promote it, including Nickelodeon's Slime Time Live.[5] The music video for "The Kiss-Off (Goodbye)" was often the Nick Video Pick of the Day on Nickelodeon.

Allison guest starred on the Nickelodeon television series Taina in the season two episode, Sabotage. The album's closing track, "Say Goodbye", is featured in the episode.

The album received generally mixed reviews, with the Knight Ridder calling it "a classic exhibit of the pop music industry's assembly-line tendencies".[7] Stephen Thomas Erlewine from AllMusic praised "The Kiss-Off (Goodbye)" and "Toodle-Oo" but wrote that "Allison tries so hard to sound different while remaining commercial enough to be successful, her record can be grating at times".[8]
