Ovalentaria[edit]
Is this a synonym of Ovalentaria? Just wondering, given that the German interwiki leads to that name. Chtfn (talk) 01:16, 14 April 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, they are the same clade. The name Stiassyniformes was proposed first; but it does not appear to have caught on. Ovalentaria was proposed independently three years later for exactly the same group. Despite being later, Ovalentaria is the name that has become common in the literature (26 times as many results on Google Scholar as Stiassyniformes), and I'm thinking it would make more sense to follow the Spanish and German Wiki and replace this article with one on Ovalentaria, with a brief mention of alternative names.
