Shaitani Rasmein (transl. Satanic Rituals)(International title :Evil Affairs) is an Indian Hindi-language series starring Naqiyah Haji, Vibhav Roy and Shefali Jariwala.[1][2] It premiered on 15 January 2024 on Star Bharat[3] and is digitally available on Disney+ Hotstar. It is a romance thriller with a wedding theme, as well as supernatural elements.[4][5]

Plot[edit]

Nikki, an orphan city girl marries her prince charming Piyush and arrives at Bhurangarh. Nikki's-in-laws worship the satanic force Malik and make her perform Shaitani Rasmein, there she ends up challenging the evil entity. In Goa, Nikki's governess Anita is brutally killed after she tried contacting Nikki but in vain. Nikki refuses at first but keeps fulfilling the evil rituals. Veronica (Nikki's childhood friend) arrives at Bhurangarh to search for her; where she is surprised by the on going rituals. In greed, Veronica decides to separate Piyush and Nikki but ends up killed by Kapalika, she also kills Arohi's unborn child. Nikki to protect the family continue doing rituals empowering Maalik. Maalik falls for Nikki making Kapalika jealous.[needs update]

Shefali Jariwala,Vipul Roy and Naqiyah Haji were signed as the leads.[6] The first promo was released in December 2023.[7]

Development[edit]

The series was announced by Triangle Film Company on Star Bharat.[8] It is a live action adaptation of Drishyam Comics series "Devil's Play" from the app Pratilipi Comics.[9]

Filming[edit]

Principal photography for the show began in December 2023.[10]
