I think this is a misattribution of this photo. This photo looks a LOT like a close up view of bee (Apis mellifera) eggs in the bottom of honeycomb cells. I've raised bees for 20+years, and I've seen a LOT of them.

The thing that most specifically catches my eye are the small curved shapes in the original... they correspond almost exactly to the relative size and shape of the eggs in the bee comb.
