This image suggests that the transpyloric plane is the upper horizontal plane that delineates the umbilicus region of the abdomen, in terms of its surface markings. This is incorrect and thus the image is misleading, as it is in fact the subcostal plane that marks the upper boundary of the umbilicus and left and right loin regions.
