Italiano: Dal 5 al 16 ottobre 1925 si svolse a Locarno una conferenza di pace tra la Germania, la Francia, il Belgio, l'Inghilterra, l'Italia, la Polonia e la Cecoslovacchia. Lo «spirito di Locarno» caratterizzò un periodo di speranza e di collaborazione in Europa. Il percorso della pace ricorda lo storico evento. I giardini sono dedicati a Giovan Battista Rusca che fu sindaco di Locarno nel 1925 e che accolse i diplomatici europei. Nel 1975, in occasione del 50° anniversario della conferenza, l'artista Remo Rossi donò alla città di Locarno la scultura «Toro».
Deutsch: Vom 5. bis zum 16. Oktober 1925 fand in Locarno eine Friedenskonferenz zwischen Deutschland, Frankreich, Belgien, England, Italien, Polen und der Tschechoslowakei statt. Der «Geist von Locarno» charakterisierte eine Zeit der Hoffnung und der Zusammenarbeit in Europa. Der Weg des Friedens erinnert an das historische Ereignis. Die Gärten sind Giovan Battista Rusca gewidmet, der 1925 Bürgermeister von Locarno war und der die europäischen Diplomaten empfing. Im Jahr 1975, anlässlich des 50. Jahrestages der Konferenz, spendete der Künstler Remo Rossi der Stadt die Skulptur des «Toro».
English: From 5 to 16 October 1925 a peace conference was held in Locarno between Germany, France, Belgium, England, Italy, Poland and Czechoslovakia. The «spirit of Locarno» characterized a period of hope and cooperation in Europa. The path of peace is reminiscent of the historic event. The gardens are dedicated to Giovan Battista Rusca, who was mayor of Locarno in 1925 and who received the European diplomats. In 1975, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the conference, the artist Remo Rossi donated the «Toro» (Bull) sculpture to the city.
